Frequently Asked Questions

What is coaching?

Quoted from the ICF website, coachfederation.org:

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity, and leadership. We all have goals we want to reach, challenges we’re striving to overcome, and times when we feel stuck. Partnering with a coach can change your life, setting you on a path to greater personal and professional fulfillment.

A COACH IS...

• A partner in achieving goals

• A confidant when exploring choices

• A motivator towards growth

• A source of enthusiasm and support

• A sounding board to help create a more productive life

• A beacon during stormy times

How long do coaching sessions last?

Typically, coaching sessions are 50 minutes in duration.

How much does it cost?

  • The fee is $120 for an individual session.

  • One Month coaching package is $440 per month based on 4 weekly sessions/month.

  • Three month package includes 12 sessions and unlimited email communication with the coach between sessions for a fee of: $1200.

  • Payment is due at the beginning of each session, or at the beginning of each package period.

How are the coaching sessions conducted?

All sessions are online via a video chat application such as Zoom. Clients are asked to please keep their video and sound on during the entire session and to silence their phone and other devices so that their whole attention can focus on the coaching process.

Is what we talk about confidential and secure?

Absolutely! The coaching relationship, as well as all information (documented or verbal) that the Client shares with the Coach as part of this relationship, is bound by the principles of confidentiality set forth in the ICF Code of Ethics. However, please be aware that the Coach-Client relationship is not considered a legally confidential relationship (like the medical and legal professions) and thus communications are not subject to the protection of any legally recognized privilege. The Coach agrees not to disclose any information pertaining to the Client without the Client’s written consent. The Coach will not disclose the Client’s name as a reference without the Client’s consent.  For more information go to: https://coachingfederation.org/ethics/code-of-ethics

Is there a minimum commitment I have to sign up for?

No. You can have one coaching session and quit if you want or set up sessions just as you need them. However, most people feel that they need a minimum of three months to truly make lasting change in their life, so I recommend committing to three to six months if at all possible. We can work out something that fits in your budget if that is a concern as well. I try to be as flexible as possible.

What are your credentials?

I have completed and been certified as a Master Certified Life Coach through the Certified Life Coach Institute. I also bring a lifetime of experience to the table along with compassion, empathy and an open mind.

How do I get started?

Go to my Contact page here and send me an email expressing your interest in having a Discovery Session with me. I offer a FREE 30 minute session where we discuss what you would like to work on in coaching and work out a plan to assist you in moving forward. There is no obligation to continue past this session. This is a good opportunity to see if we are a good fit for each other, if coaching is right for you, and whether you want to continue with more sessions.
